REPORTING THE NEWS

I have some news to report about my family. I just found out that both my mom and dad have diabetes. I heard about it all the time but I never paid much attention to it. I know there were tons of stories on the news and when it came to that topic I would shut the television off. It's a little different when it suddenly becomes about your loved ones and diabetes treatment. They're not getting any younger and I want to help them in any way I can. They were there for me when I got in that car accident and needed to go to the hospital to get my leg stitched up. I want to be able to return the favor. I'm glad they still have each other right now. The news came as a surprise to all of us, I think. Although my dad's father had it and so did my mom's mother. I'm going to drop by later this week and pay them a visit. I also offered to swing by their doctor's office and pick up some extra information about it. They thought that was a good idea since they both have to work long hours this week. So I'll be running little errands until they get more adjusted with everything.
