NEW YORK TIMES

I read the article on understanding sugar levels in the New York Times, and it made me worry. But I guess I don't have as much to worry about as Jim. He has really dropped his levels in a short period of time. He went back to his doctor who told him that his drop wasn't all that much, and it brought him into the normal range. The article mentions that there can be a greater chance of death when levels drop quickly and to extremely low levels. This made Jim feel a little better. My levels were not as high as his, so they had less to fall. And they didn't fall as quickly, but I worried anyway. Finally, Tara told me to contact my doctor, which I did. He told me not to worry, that my worrying would probably lead me to getting sick faster than any high or low levels. I had told him about Mr. Callahan, who is 94, and who attends our support program. I had to learn to relax if I were ever to get to be Mr. Callahan's age. Tara agreed. She told me to take the readings twice per day and then to forget about it. I took her advice and now I don't worry at all. Besides, I feel fine! Next week we are going to take a vacation. We are flying to Cancun.
