FRESH OFF THE PRESSES

I just got news that my friend booked a flight for me to come to Seattle! I'm so excited. I got his e-mail this morning. I know he's been having some financial struggles lately, so I'm really surprised he spent three hundred dollars on a plane ticket. He has been saying for a long time that he wanted to see me. I know he can be a bit impulsive and unpredictable, but I definitely wasn't expecting this. I think I'll wind up getting my Lasik in Washington then. He said that he has the apartment all to himself since his two roommates moved out two months ago and I'm welcome to stay for however long I need. I think he'll really appreciate the company. He's been incredibly lonely ever since things went sour with his girlfriend. Ever since they separated he always sends me messages about how lonely he feels. I don't think he's expecting us to have any kind of romantic encounter, but I have to be honest that I wouldn't mind it if it happened. I always harbored some secret feelings for him, I think. I definitely have a soft spot for him. Out of respect for his girlfriend, I never said anything. Now that it's not a concern, this could potentially be really interesting!
